Big Conversation – there’s still time to have your say (See above)
Parish Councils and residents are reminded there is still time to have their say in the Big Conversation Consultation on what the future of rural transport in Kent could look like.
Over a six week period starting from the 19th June, public meetings have been held around the county to hear people’s views on rural transport in their area and how it might be maintained or improved in the future. With the consultation ending on the 8th August, KCC is encouraging those who have yet to complete the questionnaire to do so. The Questionnaire is available online or hard copies are available at Kent Libraries or on request from email@example.com.
The consultation proposes three ideas for schemes that could be implemented as Pilots throughout the county in 2019. It is important that we hear your views so we can deliver the right service for the local needs. The three ideas are:
· Idea 1 - Creating feeder services linking communities to mainline bus or train services
· Idea 2 - Bookable and flexible bus service that plan shared journeys based on online and phone bookings
· Idea 3 – Taxi-buses that would run to a timetable and specific route
Following the consultation, KCC will be hosting a Bus Summit in October 2018 which will provide an opportunity to announce the pilot schemes to be implemented for early 2019. Further details will be provided in due course.
