Polling District Review - Tonbridge & Malling
Published: 17 November 2018
I am writing to advise you that we are undertaking a review of the polling districts, places and stations within the Tonbridge & Malling Borough. A Review has to be undertaken every 5 years.
You can find more information regarding the review, including a Notice of Review and details of the current polling stations at www.tmbc.gov.uk/PDR . We will be publicising this review in a variety of ways, to encourage people to engage with the process. We are keen to get views as to how suitable the current arrangements are, particularly for disabled voters, and for people to suggest alternative venues for us to consider if they are not happy with the current arrangements. We would be grateful if you could display the Notice of Review within the Parish, to assist us in ensuring as many people as possible are aware of the Review and have the chance to comment. Can you also share this with your Parish Councillors.
I have visited and conducted an assessment of all the Polling stations in the Borough and the Retuning Officer will be issuing recommendations shortly as part of the review.
The deadline for consultation responses is 21 December 2018, and we will be looking to take a report to General Purposes Committee on 28 January 2019 for options to be considered, prior to consideration by full Council on 19 February 2019. The timing of this review is so everything is in place for the May 2019 Borough and Parish elections.
Please email me with any comments or suggestions or call me if you would like to discuss any aspect of this review.
