EAST PECKHAM PARISH COUNCILS SETS ITS BUDGET FOR 2019/2020

At a meeting of the Parish Council held on 07 January 2019, members set the councils budget for the financial year 01 April 2019 – 31 March 2020. An expenditure budget of £194,164 has been approved which requires a Parish Precept of £142,000. This is a 1.43% increase on the 2018/2019 Parish Precept which was £140,000. The Parish Precept is the amount that Tonbridge and Malling Borough Council will collect on our behalf from Council Tax.

To give an indication on how this is likely to affect Council Tax Payers, our total budgetary requirement for 2019/2020 of £194,164 is offset by predicted income of £35,900 and a contribution from reserves of £16,264 which results in a Parish Precept of £142,000. This is then is divided by the 2019/2020 Council Tax base of 1,290.12 (the number of Band D equivalent properties in East Peckham as advised by TMBC) which results in a Band D Parish Council Tax amount of £110.07 (2018/2019 £108.03).
