Help at Home From Seniors Helping Seniors
Published: 05 August 2020
We charge for our service, which ensures that we can pay our people in excess of the national living wage, together with holiday pay and where appropriate pensions. Our carer/companions gain financially and through enrichment of their lives, so we offer two streams of benefit to the senior citizens of the region.
We totally understand that you will where possible direct people towards volunteer groups who provide free services, but in these uncertain times there is far too little support and far too many needing help. Therefore, where people can afford to pay for help, we can provide what is currently very hard to come by at the moment. I understand that our charges are roughly in line with AgeUK at £24.60 per hour, but we have a minimum of just one hour and nobody ever has to sign a contract with us.
We regularly receive referrals from AgeUK, Imago and Medical facilities of all sizes including Hospitals across West Kent.
Our services include help around the home and garden, cooking, laundry and light housework, gardening and minor DIY, dog walking and pet care and probably most importantly at this time companionship. We can provide transport and chaperones to doctors and hospital appointments or a service to shop for or take people shopping. Of course we can offer a combination of these services in one visit. We have introduced strict policies and procedures to keep our organisation and clients as they have been throughout the last six months – Covid-free.
